Sangita Goyal qualified in Bachelor Library Science at Punjab University in Chandigarh in 1982. Sangita came to the UK in 1983, where she was involved in many activities, including her voluntary work at her local library.

Once she married Vidya Goyal in 1984, she supported her husband by helping in his chain of newsagents and travel agencies, which grew into creating Metro Properties Investment. Sangita Goyal is a partner in Metro Properties Investment, an award-winning company in the property sector. She is a trustee of the Hallmark Care Homes Foundation and a supporter of Hemraj Goyal Foundation (now known as Goyal Foundation).
